With her youthful, radiant and vigorous appearance, it is quite hard to believe that Jodi Sta. Maria had already reached 42 years oldsd year of existence when she celebrated her birthday on June 16.

But apart from her admirable beauty, grace and personality, another thing that many people adore about her is her magnificent acting prowess, which has never ceased to amaze us throughout her 26-year career in the industry entertainment. And since she’s aged a year, not to mention she’s about to star in Dreamscape Entertainment’s biggest TV series in 2024, Lavender fieldslet’s join her in celebrating her milestones by looking back at some of her notable TV series performances over the years in this Kapamilya Time-List feature!

Like most of her contemporaries, Jodi’s showbiz career took off when she was a teenager and became a member of Star Magic at the age of 15. She has appeared in many teen-oriented shows and films, including the iconic teen drama Ilog Tabin which she played the role of George, the love interest of Baron Geisler’s character Fonsi.

At the start of the new millennium, in 2000, she got the opportunity to be a part of the hit classic romantic drama. Pangako Sa’Yo as Lia, the younger sister of Jericho Rosales’ Angelo Buenavista.

In 2005, Jodi was able to prove that she could also be a counterrbida when she played Veronica Saavedra de Vera in the Pablo S. Gomez film Kampanerang Kubathe television adaptation of the Filipino comic book series of the same title starring Anne Curtis.

Although she was only recurring, she ensured that her character Angela Dominguez on the 2009 hit series Tayong Dalawa further left an impression on viewers by showing off his intense dramatic prowess. This continued in 2010, when she was hired to play Ruth, Piolo Pascual’s on-screen partner and Zaijian Jaranilla’s mother, in the 2010 series. Noah.

The following year, she entertained us with her portrayal of Sophia Delgado, one of the main characters in the much-loved 2011 fantasy drama series. 100 days in paradise, as she showed both her dramatic and comedic sides.

It seems that 2012 was indeed a monumental year for her as she not only turned 30, but it was also the time she was chosen to headline the sleeper hit. A year after the said daytime series ended, Jodi was given the iconic role of Amor Powers in the 2015 remake of the classic ABS-CBN soap opera. Pangako Sa’Yo, which was originally played by veteran actress Eula Valdez. Her convincing performance earned her recognition from various awarding bodies, including the Best Actress nomination at the International Emmy Awards.

She further impressed us with her first ever portrayal of dual roles in the 2018 daytime series. Sana Dalawa Ang Pusoin which she won the hearts of viewers as estranged twins Mona Bulalayao and Lisa Laureano.

We once again witnessed her intense dramatic talents when she took on the role of Fina Baniaga, a mother whose journey we followed in searching and fighting for her lost child in the primetime series of 2019. Sino Ang Maysala? Mea culpa.

The pandemic raging in 2020 did not stop her from delivering a powerful acting performance in the role of the fierce bida contrerabida Marissa Pineda in the critically acclaimed series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin which she led against Iza Calzado.

In 2022, she amazed us with her remarkable interpretation of Dra. Jill Illustrated in The broken marriage vow, the Filipino adaptation of the hit British series “Doctor Foster”. Her compelling performance as a tough, dedicated woman who left us amazed and inspired by how she faced the heartbreaking betrayal of her husband and her closest friends earned her the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Award for “Best Actress in a leading role.

And in 2023, Jodi gave us another superb performance in Unbreak My Heart, which was a historic collaboration between ABS-CBN, GMA Network and Viu. It followed the story of her character Rose, who found herself embroiled in a love triangle with her daughter Alex (Gabbi Garcia) after developing a romantic affair with the latter’s boyfriend, Renz (Joshua Garcia).

In 2024, avid fans of Jodi and ABS-CBN TV series may not have been able to contain their excitement as she is set to headline Dreamscape’s biggest and most anticipated action drama series Entertainment. Lavender fields as the titular character.
