The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill football program has become the first Power 5 team to offer Reidsville athlete Dionte Neal.

UNC nominated the class of 2026 as an “athlete.” Neal is also competing for Reidsville’s starting quarterback job this season.

Neal is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

He received several basketball offers. Hampton, High Point, College of Charleston, NC A&T, Western Carolina and NC Central made these verbal offers.

Neal’s football offers came from Western Kentucky and East Tennessee State.

In two college seasons, Neal has 90 receptions for 1,277 yards and 17 touchdowns. Defensively, Neal was credited with 48 total tackles, 15 interceptions, 18 assists and a forced fumble.
