Shocking moments from the Summer School finale

“Pretty Little Liars” brought out Final Girl Energy for Thursday’s “Summer School” finale, finally unmasking Bloody Rose while introducing plenty of options for a potential Season 3.

The eight-episode second season featured plenty of murders and niche horror movie references, with stars Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco and Zaria – as well as honorary sixth FGE member Mallory Bechtel – each getting her own Final Girl moment. But in the Max show’s season finale, all eyes were on resident movie buff Tabby (Kinney), who finally proved that her horror movie knowledge could help her survive.

The hour contained enough twists and turns to fill Spooky Spaghetti’s home page, but TheWrap narrowed the episode down to the most iconic moments that you won’t want to miss.

Bloody Rose asking “Who else?”

After losing his evil son Chip (Carson Rowland) in the previous season finale “Original Sin,” Season 2’s serial killer Bloody Rose was revealed to be none other than Mrs. Langsberry (Carey Van Driest). The show has done a good job of defining his motivations and mental state – so much so that when Tabby finally correctly guesses his identity, Bloody Rose bluntly asks, “Who else?”

Ultimately, the biggest reveal was actually that Bloody Rose wasn’t the season’s big bad. That honor went to Orpheum manager Wes (Derek Klena), who was revealed to be the mastermind behind all of the film’s themed carnage.

The Tabby Fork Showdown

Unlike her hack of a boss, Tabby actually understands what makes a good horror movie. This is why, when presented with the possibility of stumbling upon the killer’s bed, she instead chooses to open the door and hide outside. This gives her enough time to ambush Wes with a pitchfork, which she uses to quickly impale him despite her belief that she didn’t have it in her.

Of course, the teen series ultimately hedged its bet, revealing that Wes survived his injuries — and a punch from Imogen (Madison). Yet he ends up getting shut down, leaving him as potential fodder for a future season.

Archie returns to kill Dr. Sullivan

The idea of Season 1’s big bad Archie coming back from the dead isn’t exactly shocking in the established “PLL” universe. Original series star Dr. Sullivan (Annabeth Gish) isn’t the final kill of the episode either.

What East It is shocking that this revelation took place after the following dialogue:

Tabby: “I think I might be done with Archie and Bloody Rose, the whole Waters family. Maybe for my next film, it won’t be about dwelling on the past. This may be something new.

Imogen: “A new story with a new slasher villain?

Tabby: “Or bad guys. Bigger, badder, bolder.

Imogen freezes Johnny

When Imogen (Madison) discovers dead bodies all summer long in her ice cream parlor’s freezer, she understandably panics. Her hesitation to believe that her co-worker/boyfriend Johnny (Antonio Cipriano) isn’t the killer before incapacitating him with a key and locking him in the freezer also makes perfect sense, especially considering all the trauma that she suffered.

However, two weeks after Johnny is released, thawed and cooled from his relationship with Imogen, in his words, he gives her an air of desperation that just doesn’t make any sense. Although Imogen is sweet, the walking red flag couldn’t be less ready for a relationship.

Jen is the smartest girl in school

Regardless of what you think of the chemistry between Noa (Reficco) and newcomer Jen (Ava Capri) and their complicated dynamic with Shawn (Alex Aiono), there’s no denying that the decision to include juvenile detention as The girls’ only hope of success was summer school, which was crazy. She’s not even going here, to quote a pop culture icon.

Sure, she can wire up a car – even over the phone – but in what world could Jen realistically teach Tabby, Mouse (Pyles) or Faran (Zaria) everything needed to pass a performance exam regulated by the state?

Overall it was a really fun summer. While the boys – Ash (Jordan Gonzalez), Greg (Elias Kacavas), Christian (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Henry (Ben Cook) – and the moms weren’t really used this time around, with the series relying on its slasher roots certainly worked. .
