‘Siraj to…’ – Suryakumar Yadav Gives Playful Reply After Reporter Mistakes His Name; He called him Mohammed Siraj

Indian slugger Suryakumar Yadav’s humorous response to being mistakenly called Mohammed Siraj by a journalist has become a hit on social media. This incident took place during the pre-match press conference ahead of India’s first Super 8 clash against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup.

The reporter’s mistake elicited a light-hearted response from Suryakumar Yadav, showcasing his cheerful nature. This is not the first time he has demonstrated his sense of humor, with several instances in the past highlighting his funny side.

“Siraj to nahi hai yaar. Siraj bhai khana kha rahe hai (laughs) (Siraj is not here, mate. Siraj is eating),” SKY replied to the reporter.

In the match itself, Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan (3/26) managed to improve his record against India. However, it was Suryakumar Yadav, impressing with 53 from 28 balls, who propelled India to a total of 181/8 on a difficult pitch. Despite the difficult conditions, other notable contributions came from Rishabh Pant (20 off 11) and Hardik Pandya (32 off 24).

Afghanistan struggled in their run chase and were bowled out for 134 in 20 overs. Poor shot selection by the Afghan batters contributed to their defeat, continuing their winless streak against India. Jasprit Bumrah (3/7 in four overs) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/32), playing his first match of the tournament, were outstanding performers with the ball for India. India’s next Super 8 match is against Bangladesh in Antigua on Saturday, followed by the big match against Australia on June 24.
