WATCH: Home intruder caught after being hit with frying pan

CHICAGO, Illinois (KMID/KPEJ) – A suspect in an alleged residential burglary was confronted, face-to-face, by the owner of the house, all caught on camera.

The homeowner was away when a security alarm alerted him to a break-in. He rushed home to the Logan Square neighborhood, where he caught the guy inside and chased him outside. He then grabbed a frying pan to ward off the invader with a strong blow to the head.

“Didn’t know what to really grab, grabbed a frying pan and basically it was a tussle, hit him a couple times in the foyer here, unfortunately he got outside, chased him around the back of the house,” said homeowner Jason Williams .

Police were also alerted by home security. When they arrived, they chose not to confiscate the frying pan. The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment of his head wounds.
