Member of Ole Miss football staff Joe Cox decided to ignore all speculation about her potential relationship with Kelly Stafford While Georgia. The former Bulldogs quarterback broke his silence on the matter with an unrelated video Friday morning.

He will just move on!

To do so, Cox posted from inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Her caption included a love emoji. Nothing more. Short and sweet.

Cox played quarterback at Georgia from 2005 to 2009. He served as Matthew Stafford’s backup in each of his first three seasons in Athens and took over as the starter as a senior.

Kelly Stafford, Matthew’s current wife, recently opened up about the beginnings of their relationship. They weren’t always on the same wavelength. In fact, she dated his replacement to make him jealous.

Long story short, it wasn’t such a cute relationship at first. I hated him. I liked it. I dated the backup to flirt with it, which worked. He was also the bad boy. Matthew was so nice, and Southern gentleman, and all that. The save was the complete opposite, and it upset him. It worked, fortunately.

Of course, college football fans immediately began speculating about who the replacement would be. Cox is an option. Joe Tereshinski, Blake Barnes and Logan Gray are the others.

Although I’m 99.99% sure that Kelly Stafford’s “other guy” is Gray, Cox was one of the more qualified candidates as he was #2 on the depth chart for each of the three years for which Matthew was at university. And Lane Kiffin didn’t shut it down, even though it was Gray, not Cox.

He added fuel to the fire! The Ole Miss head coach responded “Maybe…” to an image that linked his tight ends coach to Kelly Stafford. It was probably just kidding, and it looks like Gray is the guy, but there’s technically a 25% chance that Cox is the replacement for Stafford who “dated” his wife before she became his wife. We may never know!

Whether the truth comes out or not, Cox clearly isn’t going to answer it either way. He’s focused entirely on the Rebels and chose to ignore all online chatter by posting from inside the stadium Friday morning.
