Scott McKnight announces candidacy for Louisiana Civil Service Commissioner

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A former Republican state representative and Baton Rouge businessman says he is running for Louisiana Civil Service Commissioner for District 2.

Scott McKnight announced his candidacy in a press release on Friday, June 21. The announcement comes days after Craig Greene said he would not run for re-election.

“I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Public Service Commissioner,” McKnight said. “Commissioner Craig Greene has done an outstanding job during his tenure on the commission and we need a conservative to follow in his footsteps and be the voice of taxpayers.”

According to a press release, McKnight represented District 68 from 2020-24 in the Louisiana House of Representatives. He also works as vice president and director of business development at Cadence Insurance.

Election day is Tuesday, November 5.
