Jennifer Lawrence will star in and produce “The Wives,” a murder mystery in the vein of “The Real Housewives.” She will be joined by Justine Ciarrocchi, her partner in the duo’s Excellent Cadaver production banner, as well as Jeremy O. Harris and Josh Godfrey, for production. The project’s screenplay was written by Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley. The name of the director has not yet been revealed.

JLaw’s new project

The project was acquired by Apple Original Films, per Variety, calling it a “highly competitive situation.” It’s currently in development, so no word on the final plot or when it will be filmed. However, it has been described as “being partly inspired by the Real Housewives franchise, which focuses on the soap opera and over-the-top theatrics of wealthy women in areas from Orange County to Miami to Atlanta.”

Lawrence’s recent projects

Lawrence was last featured in the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings” and in the lead role in Leonardo DiCaprio’s “Don’t Look Up.” She was also a part of “The Hunger Games”. Next, she has “Burial Rites” and a remake of “East of Eden” in the works. Lawrence is also set to star in a biopic about Hollywood talent agent Sue Mengers and a crime film called “Mob Girl.”
