How to get and use the Prayer Room Key in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

THE Key to the prayer room is a special item in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and it is used to unlock a special room in the Shadow Keep Church district in Scadu Altus. However, getting to the church area requires quite a bit of legwork, as does getting to the prayer hall itself.

But help is at hand, because we’re here to explain exact location of prayer room keyhow to get it, and where you should use it in our walkthrough.

Where to Find the Prayer Room Key Location

To acquire the key to the prayer room, you will need to beat the fire knight Queeligne into combat for the second time, which (if you fought him in Belurat, Tower Settlement) should take place in the Church of the Crusade in Scadu Altus. This church is located northwest of the Grace site “Highroad Cross”, just before arriving at the soldier encampment in front of Shadow Keep. You can see its exact location on the map below:

The Fire Knight Quelign will appear as an invader when you enter the church, but he will drop the key as a reward for his defeat.

Where to use the prayer room key

The location of the prayer room itself is in the Shadow Keep Church District, which you can only access from the east side of Shadow Keep, near the Cathedral of Manus Metyr. You cannot access this part of Shadow Dungeon through the main entrance.which is (unnecessarily) the path closest to where you just fought Fire Knight Queelign.

It is worth pointing out that finding the entrance to the Church District is essential to completing the Shadow Keep as a whole, as it is the only way to access the Shadow Keep boss, Messmer l ‘Impaler, so you’ll end up passing through the prayer room anyway. as you walk towards the boss.

However, there are additional complications in the Shadow Keep Church District area, as it is completely flooded when you arrive, which poses some precarious platforming challenges as you navigate its dilapidated rooftops and narrow passageways. We died several times going through this section, so If you don’t want to lose your hard-earned runes, we highly recommend leveling up before attempting this section.because it is easy to lose them in the event of accidental death.

From the Grace’ SiteEntrance to the church area‘, jump onto the roof right in front of you.

You can take care of the crabs munching on the corpses on the roof if you want, but you’ll want to head to the other side of the quad, using one of the raised skylights to jump onto the next collapsed wall to the west .

Go around to where two more crabs are, but be careful: fiery enemies will come out of the ground and rush towards you in an explosion. It’s very easy to get knocked into the water here, so keep your distance when they appear and try to take them out with a long-range weapon.

Once you’re safe, climb the sloping wall and jump to the small platform right next to the outer wall of the dungeon. Again, more explosive fire enemies emerge here, but if you’re quick you can just run past them and jump onto the next roof to the west.

A Fire Knight will appear on this roof, capable of casting powerful fire spells at you and dealing heavy blows with his fire-infused greatsword. If you’re having trouble defeating them, dodge their sword swings and keep hitting where you can.

Once they’ve been dealt with, this is the part where you’ll have to do some stomach-turning platforms. Try not to get too bothered by the ominous rumbling that starts as soon as you get your bearings. It’s fun that’s still to come. In the meantime, prepare to jump to the large black archway to your left. You may not feel like you can make this jump, but trust us: you just need a good start:

Climb the archway and jump to the roof above. You will notice that there is a large hole at the top. Drop down onto the gray, arched beams you can see below. You’ll need to line up perfectly, as it can be easy to miss and fall into the water to your death.

Drop down to the south side of the archway and jump to the upper floor in front of you. Then go back down through the giant hole in the ground.

Before going any further down the long hallway, turn around and follow the path to a small door in the corner of the flooded room.

This is the prayer roomand inside you will find Fire Knight Queeligne muttering in distress on the floor inside. Talk to him until you have exhausted his dialogue.

Congratulations! You arrived unscathed at the prayer room. For now, there’s not much more you can do for Fire Knight Queelign – you’ll only be able to progress through his questline once you’ve acquired one of two specific items: the Occultation Iris or the Iris of grace.

By giving him one of these items, you will receive The Great Sword of Queeligne as a reward, so be sure to come back here once you have one of the special Iris items to complete the Fire Knight Quelign questline.
