Jonway YY500 – styling inspired by classic American models

Jonway recently unveiled its new motorcycle, the YY500, a model clearly inspired by the styling of classic Harley-Davidson and Indian, bringing a touch of American spirit to the motorcycle market. This new model aims to capture the essence of the great American cruisers, but with an approachable and practical approach for the European market.

The Jonway YY500 is equipped with a 471 cc in-line twin-cylinder engine with liquid cooling. This engine is capable of delivering 40.8 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 40.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, offering strong and reliable performance for a motorcycle in this segment. The gearbox has six gears, which ensures a smooth and efficient drive, ideal for urban and longer journeys.

The YY500’s design is one of its biggest appeals. The bike features sturdy, classic lines, with details reminiscent of iconic American cruisers. The fuel tank, with a capacity of 20 liters, is large and well designed, providing not only an imposing appearance, but also excellent range for long journeys. The riding position is relaxed, with a wide and comfortable saddle, and the forward footrests provide an ergonomic posture, typical of cruiser-style motorcycles.

The frame of the Jonway YY500 is made of tubular steel, providing a sturdy and stable structure. The front suspension consists of a 41mm telescopic fork, while the rear features double shock absorbers, ensuring effective shock absorption and comfortable riding on different types of terrain. The brakes are disc brakes on both wheels, with a 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, equipped with ABS for added safety.

The YY500’s wheels measure 16 inches at the front and 15 inches at the rear, fitted with wide tires that contribute to stability and grip, essential features for a bike of this size. Additionally, the bike is equipped with an all-LED lighting system, ensuring excellent visibility and a modern twist on the classic design.

The YY500’s dashboard is a combination of analogue and digital dials, providing all the necessary information in a clear and intuitive manner. It includes a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer and other useful functions for the driver.

In terms of comfort and convenience, the YY500 does not disappoint. The saddle is made from high quality material, ensuring comfort on long journeys, and the bike has a storage compartment under the saddle, ideal for storing small items and tools. In addition, the model has a dual exhaust system, which not only improves performance, but also provides the deep and pleasant sound characteristic of cruisers.
