Charles Spencer’s Wife Karen Breaks Silence Amid Divorce

Karen Spencer speaks out for the first time since her ex-husband Earl Charles Spencer announced earlier this month that they would be divorcing after 13 years of marriage.

Karen, 52, shared a statement via Instagram on Friday, June 21 regarding her split from the late Princess Dianathe younger brother of.

“I just wanted to say that I have been overwhelmed by the messages of love and support. Thank you, this really means a lot to me,” she wrote. “I’m just processing at the moment. I’ll get back to you soon.

Karen then added a series of photos of the Althorp Estate – the Spencer family home where Diana, who died in 1997, is buried.

One photo showed a beautiful floral table while another showed her family gathering around a fire on the mansion grounds.

On June 8, Charles, 60, revealed the breakup during an interview with The Sunday Mail.

“It’s immensely sad,” Charles said. “I just want to devote myself to all my children and my grandchildren, and I wish Karen all the happiness in the future.”

Shortly after confirming his divorce, Charles was photographed canoodling with the podcast host Dr. Cat Jarman by attending a production of Book of Mormon in London.

The two currently host “The Rabbit Hole Detectives” podcast alongside Reverend Richard Cole.

Karen, a Canadian native and philanthropist, met Charles in 2010 on a blind date.

They married a year later on the Althorp property and share a daughter, 12-year-old Charlotte Diana. Their daughter’s middle name pays homage to the late Princess of Wales.

Charles is also father to daughters Kitty, 33, twins Eliza and Amelia, both 31, and son Louis, 30, with ex-wife Victoria Lockwood.

With his ex-wife Caroline Freud, he shares son Edmund, 20, and daughter Lara, 18.
