Shock as rock attack shatters Bristol bus window

Passengers on a Bristol-bound bus have spoken of their shock when a rock smashed one of the windows as they passed through Keynsham this morning.

Everyone on the X39 from Bath to Bristol had to leave the bus after the incident, which happened near Keynsham Memorial Park at around 11.20am this morning, Saturday June 22.

The side window of the bus, just behind the door, was completely shattered by the attack. One passenger described it as “a shock”, while another said they saw someone throw something as the bus passed the park.

“No one was hurt but it was quite shocking,” said a passenger on board. “It’s not what you would expect mid-morning on a sunny day in Keynsham,” he added.

The driver of the first bus stopped and checked that everyone on board was okay, after stopping the bus.

“He called headquarters, checked on everyone and apologized for the delay, explaining that he would go to the next stop so people could board the next available bus. Everything was pretty quiet, but it was a shock to hear the noise, crack and see glass falling,” the passenger said.
