STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: Gaurav Gupta, former general secretary of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has expressed deep anger and frustration over recent revelations of NEET scam and abrupt cancellation of UGC – NET exam .
In a scathing statement issued here today, Gaurav Gupta condemned the blatant disregard for the future of India’s youth and gross mismanagement of critical academic processes.
“The NEET scam is an outright betrayal of our country’s students and their families. This scandal not only undermines the integrity of our education system, but also shatters the dreams of countless aspiring doctors who have worked tirelessly to secure their future. It is appalling to witness such corruption and manipulation at the highest levels, where merit is pushed aside in favor of deception and dishonesty,” he said.
Gaurav termed the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam a “colossal failure” on the part of the authorities. “The sudden cancellation of the UGC-NET exam is simply a disaster. This reflects gross incompetence and lack of foresight on the part of those responsible. This decision left thousands of students in the dark, causing unnecessary stress and anxiety. The authorities must be held accountable for this serious error.”
He added: “The young people of this country deserve transparency, fairness and stability in their studies. These incidents have seriously shaken confidence in our educational institutions and governing bodies. Immediate and strict action must be taken against those responsible to restore confidence in our system.
Gaurav Gupta sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention on this important issue for an urgent overhaul of the examination and admission processes to ensure that such debacles are not repeated. It demands that the government take decisive steps to safeguard the interests of students and maintain the sanctity of the education system.
Gaurav demanded action against the agency involved in conducting the NEET exam across the country by blacklisting it. “This serious problem goes against the country’s dream of Viksit Bharat,” he said, emphasizing the need for accountability and reform. “The NEET scam and cancellation of the UGC – NET exam are cruel reminders of the systemic failures plaguing our education sector. It is high time for thorough and uncompromising reform. The future of our students should never be at stake; they are the backbone of our nation’s progress and development,” he concluded.
