Paul George sends a message to Victor Wembanyama at the San Antonio Spurs

Paul George sends a message to Victor Wembanyama at the San Antonio Spurs

During a recent episode of Podcast P, a Wave Sports + Entertainment original, LA Clippers star Paul George revealed how the San Antonio Spurs can fully unlock young phenom Victor Wembanyama.

“The way he finished the year is scary for the league,” George said of Wembanyama. “Just look at the Denver game, the Philly game, he had some really good games to close out this year where it was, damn, that’s what Wemby is.”

George added: “The problem is he doesn’t have the personnel. Not that the guys around him aren’t good enough, it’s just that the personnel aren’t ready for whatever he brings and his talents.”

Presenting his solution to this problem, George suggested Spurs acquire a savvy point guard who can box Wembanyama and put the ball where he belongs.

“Say, you had a (Chris Paul) or a (Rajon Rondo), these guys who just know basketball and know he’s 7’5″ … someone who can sit down and explain the game to him like that. If they face you, turn, that ball will be there. He doesn’t have that kind of staff around him to do that. »

Spurs are expected to make big improvements to their squad this summer, with Wembanyama looking set to win now.
