Disgruntled Bordeaux residents protest against corruption and unfair employment practices – Tzaneen Voice

By Theodorah Waga Mawasha

BORDEAX VILLAGE-Residents of the Bordeaux village of Greater Tzaneen braved the cold this morning to protest at a construction site in the region against “unfair employment practices”.

It is reported that the contractor, TQM Engineers, a company hired to install water reticulation pipes in the village, neglected residents when hiring workers. It is further alleged that the company solicited bribes from those hired to secure employment.

“They named people who paid them bribes. We are fighting corruption,” said a resident.

As things stand, the villagers have closed the entrance to the construction site office.

TQM engineering management could not be reached for comment.
