No room for loopholes in security of foreigners, says interior minister – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that there is no room for negligence in the security of foreigners in Pakistan.

He made the remarks on Saturday while chairing a meeting at the Interior Ministry to review security measures for foreigners, including Chinese citizens.

The meeting also assessed the overall security situation in the country.

Mr. Naqvi asked officials to implement standard operating procedures regarding security as per the plans drawn up.

He said the plan should be regularly reviewed at all levels and relevant departments should improve coordination to “counteract the nefarious intentions of anti-state elements.”

Officials from the Interior Ministry and other security agencies gave a detailed briefing on the security plan and the general situation in the country.

The meeting was attended by Interior Secretary Khurram Ali Agha, NACTA National Coordinator Muhammad Tahir Rai, National Action Plan Coordinator and senior officials of the ministry and relevant agencies.
