Party Down gets revival series more than 10 years after cancellation

It has been revealed that Starz is officially developing a revival series of the sitcom Party Down.

Starring Parks and Recreation’s Adam Scott, Glee actress Jane Lynch, and Castle Rock’s Lizzy Caplan, the original series only lasted two seasons and was ultimately canceled in 2010.

Deadline reports that the creative quartet of Paul Rudd, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge and John Enbom are all back on board the new project.

Party Down followed the trials and tribulations of caterers hoping to make it in Hollywood.

Sharing the genesis of these revival plans, Thomas commented: “In late 2019, the cast and producers of Party Down were all together at a retrospective of the series hosted by Vulture. We had such a good time that we wanted to find a way to get the team back together.

“Casting is so busy these days that finding a window where we can do it may require some trigonometry, but we are determined to make it happen.”

Starz President of Original Programming Christina Davis also said, “Before the cast of Party Down became well-known, award-winning television and film actors, they all wore the same pink bow ties as as members of an incompetent team from Los Angeles. Angeles waitstaff while pursuing her dreams of stardom on the Starz series.

“Fans have been waiting over a decade for this revival to happen and we are thrilled to be a part of the development with Rob, Paul, Dan and John at the helm.”
