Alvarez responds to United links

West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez has broken his silence after being linked with a move to Manchester United. The Mexico international worked with Erik Ten Hag at Ajax, winning the Eredivisie title twice in their three seasons together before Ten Hag joined United in 2022.

Alvarez, 26, is currently preparing for the Copa America and when asked about the links with a move to Old Trafford, he replied: “I can only tell you that I am focused on what I have to do.

“I know that the Copa America is a very important tournament where the eyes of the whole world are basically there. Later it will be time to see what is there or what is not there.”

Liverpool consider Rabiot move

Liverpool are close to signing future free agent Adrien Rabiot, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the past. Erik ten Hag’s first transfer window even saw former transfer chief John Murtough fly to Turin in the summer of 2022, but failed to reach an agreement on contract terms after agreed fees with Juventus.

Rabiot, 29, is out of contract at the end of this month and although cash-strapped Juve want to keep him, other clubs such as Liverpool and Real Madrid are preparing offers, Sportitalia claims. The left-footed midfielder has so far started for France at Euro 2024.

Galatasaray advances in pursuit of Wan-Bissaka

“Great progress” has been made in a possible deal to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s Manchester United to Turkish giants Galatasaray. According to beIN Sports, Gala chiefs plan to offer the 26-year-old right-back, whose contract at Old Trafford expires in 2025, a four-year contract.

This decision would then depend on Wan-Bissaka’s decision. Galatasaray, however, have alternatives, namely Burnley defender Lorenz Assignon and Paris Saint-Germain’s Nordi Mukiele.
