Manchester Airport receives live updates as ‘significant number of flights’ canceled due to major power outage.

A “significant number of flights” from Manchester Airport are at risk of being canceled due to a major power outage in the area. Passengers have also been asked not to show up at the airport without checking the status of their flight with the airline.

In a statement, a Manchester Airport spokesperson said: “Manchester Airport was affected by a significant power outage in the area earlier this morning (Sunday June 23). This has caused widespread disruption and a significant number of flights, particularly from Terminal 1 and 2, are expected to be delayed or canceled.

“Passengers scheduled to travel from Terminal 1 or 2 today are advised to contact their airline for up-to-date information before traveling to the airport. Passengers scheduled to travel from Terminal 3 should report at the airport normally, unless otherwise advised by their airline but could be affected by delays.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and aim to restore normal service as soon as possible.”
