Sonakshi once compared herself to 'Shurpanakha' while sharing Ramayan-inspired last names

Sonakshi Sinha rose to fame with her debut in Salman Khan’s film, Dabangg. Being the daughter of a renowned actor and politician, Shatrughan Sinha, making a mark in Bollywood was not difficult for Sonakshi. After leaving her own mark in the hearts of fans, Sonakshi is all set to turn a new chapter in her life with her long-time love Zaheer Iqbal. However, rumors of family discord regarding Sonakshi’s union with Zaheer have been doing the rounds on the internet. Moreover, the absence of her twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha, from the family gathering just before her wedding, added fuel to the fire.

Sonakshi Sinha once compared it to ‘Shurpanakha’ from Ramayan

Sonakshi Sinha has always been open about her life choices and takes responsibility for them. Recently, we came across an old video of her with Farah Khan. In the clip, we can see Farah Khan revealing that Sonakshi lived in a house called Ramayan and her father’s name was Shatrughan. To this, Sonakshi proudly revealed that her father also had three brothers, Ram, Lakhan and Bharat. Not only this, Sonakshi added that her brother’s names are Luv and Kush and her house is called ‘Ramayan’.

To this, Farah joked that she didn’t have a name like ‘Shrupanakha’ and said, “They could have given you a name from the Ramayan too, nai Shrupanakha aise koi nai?” Sonakshi hilariously revealed that she does the job as Shrupankha only. She says:

“Shrupankha wale kaam toh kar hi rahi hoon mai.. Pichli baar naak katwa ke aayi thi..”

When Shatrughan Sinha spoke about his daughter, Sonakshi’s marriage

Earlier, in a Zoom interview, Shatrughan Sinha spoke about his daughter’s marriage. He added that he was in Delhi and had not spoken about his daughter’s plans. The third-time elected MP further said that his daughter did not tell him anything about her plans and he learned about the same through the media while he was away from home due to election work. However, Shatrughan Sinha added that he would give his blessings if Sonakshi informed him about it.

However, it was later when reports that the Sinha family was not happy with Sonakshi’s marriage to Zaheer, Shatrughan, in an interview, said that it was all false. He added that he will celebrate with his daughter on June 23, 2024, during her reception. Later, Shatrughan Sinha was seen attending a meeting in which Zaheer was also present. It was a moment of happiness shared by everyone close to Sonakshi, but the absence of her brother raised eyebrows.

Well, Sonakshi Sinha is definitely a strong woman, raised by an extremely strong father, Shatrughan Sinha. She proved that women can make their own decisions and if they are right, parents will eventually accept them too.
