Several vehicles caught fire on Fairfield Avenue

The Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that destroyed several vehicles in a parking lot and storage area near 400 Fairfield Avenue at 10:25 a.m. Saturday.

Fire officials said a local towing company was using the area to store vehicles.

They also claim that 26 firefighters were dispatched to fight the fire, which was quickly “contained and brought under control”.

A representative from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also visited the scene “due to the use of foam to extinguish gasoline.”

No injuries were reported.
