Juventus ready to offer 'world class' star in swap deal for Man United striker

Juventus could negotiate a swap deal for Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Greenwood spent the recent campaign on loan at Getafe, recording ten goals and six assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

United are ready to part ways with him permanently this summer and the Bianconeri are currently in the lead to complete a deal.

The Turin giants are reluctant to pay the asking price of between £34m and £42m and could instead offer a swap deal involving Chiesa.

The Bianconeri are currently close to signing Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa in a similar vein.

The club are expected to pay a small fee in addition to the move of Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling Junior to Villa Park as part of the deal.

Juventus have a similar strategy to land Greenwood, but Lazio could derail their plans with a better proposal.

United could be tempted by Juventus offer

Chiesa has been linked with a move to the Premier League for several seasons. His contract expires in June 2025, so a transfer could take place this time.

The 26-year-old scored 13 goals in 37 appearances last season. He mainly played as a second striker for the Bianconeri.

However, he is equally comfortable operating from either wing. He was most successful on the right flank, where United lacked creativity.

He would be a good acquisition in a swap deal, although United would have to ask for a transfer fee on top of that, given Greenwood is younger and has a higher cap hit.

Former Italy defender Alessandro Pierini called Chiesa “world class”. following his sublime form en route to the final of the 2020 European Championship.
