The Scram 411 is a bike intended for daily city rides as well as occasional off-roading. It can handle the off-road part very well, but the Himalayan will always take the lead when it comes to proper off-road tracks with difficult terrain. The Scram is equipped with 19-inch wire wheels in the front and 17-inch wire wheels in the rear. This bike weighs 185 kg, which is 14 kg less than the Himalayan.

The Himalayan’s instrument cluster is divided into four parts. The first is an analog speedometer with a digital display that shows trip meters, odometer, gear indicator, clock and engine temperature. The second meter is an analog tachometer which indicates engine speed. The third unit is an analog fuel level indicator and digital compass. And the fourth is a color screen with Bluetooth phone connection.

We see a basic but informative instrument cluster on the Scram 411. It is derived from the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. The instrument cluster displays an analog speedometer, fuel level indicator, clock, odometer and two daily counters. The Scram also has a color screen with Bluetooth phone connection.

The base version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan starts at Rs 2.60 lakhs and the top trim goes up to Rs 2.68 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).

Which one is for you?

If you are someone looking for an adventure bike that can both get around town and take on bad roads, these two bikes will do the trick. However, what varies is when it comes down to the smallest details. The Himalayan takes the lead when you have to navigate difficult trails. The 21-inch wheels would definitely help control heavy bumps.

However, if you don’t need to tackle very, very difficult terrain and prefer to take your bike for occasional off-road rides, the Scram becomes a better choice, thanks to its ease of movement. The lower weight is useful around town as well as when maneuvering on off-road trails.
