Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s son says ‘Delhi bows’, Digvijaya Singh quips, ‘consider becoming PM’

Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s son says ‘Delhi bows’, Digvijaya Singh quips, ‘consider becoming PM’

Kartikeya Singh, the son of Union Agriculture Minister and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has been criticized by the Congress for saying that “entire Delhi bows down” to his father.

Speaking at a public meeting at Bherunda of Budhni assembly segment of Sehore district on June 22, Singh hailed his father’s landslide victory from Vidisha seat in the recently concluded 2024 Lok Sabha elections . He won with a margin of over 8.20 lakh votes and was made the Agriculture Minister in the Modi 3.0 cabinet.

“I have just returned after staying in Delhi. Earlier also our leader (Chouhan) was popular as the chief minister. But I don’t know why it seems that he became more popular when he was not the chief minister. Today, when our leader has won a huge victory, the entire Delhi is also bowing down to him today. The whole of Delhi also knows it, recognizes it, respects it. Not just Delhi, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, if we count top leaders, our leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan is in the list,” Singh said, according to a PTI report.

Congress takes hits

Joking, Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari said on social media platform .

“The yuvraj (prince) of Shivraj ji says that Delhi is afraid. This is 100% true. Because the country is also keeping a keen eye on the frightened dictator. One fears the voice of dissent within the party, the rebellion of the big guys leaders, the coalition management, decreasing support for the government and fear of shaking the legs of the chair,” he said.

Digvijaya Singh, former deputy CM and Congress Rajya Sabha member, also hinted that Chouhan could be a likely future prime ministerial candidate. “If Shivraj’s popularity truly extends from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, then the BJP leadership at the national level should recognize this and consider promoting Shivraj to the post of Prime Minister of the country,” he said.

Budhni bypolls

Kartikeya Singh thanked the people of Budhni for their support to his father. Chouhan resigned as MLA from Budhni assembly seat after winning the Vidisha LS seat.

“It is said that there is a woman behind every successful man… But I will say that there are people in his region behind the success of a leader, alongside a woman,” Singh said .

A bypass for Budhni is likely soon, with Singh expected to take charge of the campaign for the BJP.
