“Why is Rahul Gandhi remaining silent on the TN tragedy?” asks BJP’s Rajeev Chandrasekhar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar hit out at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over the Kallakurichi (Tamil Nadu) tragedy and asked Rahul Gandhi to clarify the action he is demanding from the DMK government, including resignation of the minister of Tamil Nadu Excise.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, “One of the biggest tragedies of the world is the tragedy of Tamil Nadu. It is absolutely shocking that Rahul’s Congress, which otherwise waves the Constitution and talks about protecting the rights of the people, has not uttered a word about its INDI Alliance partner Government in Tamil Nadu.

He asked Rahul Gandhi if the Congress would demand resignation of Tamil Nadu Excise Minister.

He added, “It is not only shameful and crude on their part to otherwise use every tragedy that affects a poor person and make it political, but when this type of havoc is created in Tamil Nadu, Rahul Gandhi maintains a studious silence. It is up to Rahul Gandhi’s Congress to clarify the measures it is demanding from the DMK government, including demanding the resignation of the Tamil Nadu Excise Minister at the earliest.

He said Rahul Gandhi should clarify how they would mitigate the losses of the victims’ family members.

“This belief that somehow, for every life, by donating a little money, we can forever compensate the families who lost their loved ones is a shame in itself. It is important that Rahul Gandhi speaks about this tragedy in Tamil Nadu and says how he will repair the lives of the family members of the 56 deceased who were lost due to the negligence of the Indian bloc government in Tamil Nadu,” he said. he adds.

Earlier, a delegation of Tamil Nadu BJP leaders led by state party president K Annamalai visited Governor RN Ravi at Raj Bhavan over the Kallakurichi tragedy, which claimed 57 lives people so far.
