Punters shocked as Glastonbury 2024 drink prices rise again

Glastonbury is all about the music – but we’d be wrong if we say we’re here for that alone.

A cultural experience spanning art, dance, comedy, theater and even circus, it’s a creative melting pot for all tastes.

But even then, let’s put all that aside for two things and two things only. Food and drinks.

Refueling at a festival, whether it be food or alcohol, is essential for many when it comes to having a fun and fulfilling time, with our taste buds being at the heart of everything when it It’s about getting the good endorphins flowing.

And gone are the days when a greasy burger van or hot dog stand were the best options available to us.

For Glastonbury 2024, there will be more than 300 food vendors spread across the huge campsite and arena.

And thanks to Glasto’s unofficial news site, Glastopedia, there’s a super easy way to get the information you need based on where you are.

It goes much deeper than that, as you can search via the cuisine, festival site area, and dietary filters, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free.

Short bios also exist for each vendor, with the option to add them to your favorites if you like them.

Glastopedia spoke to “Yeah, me too. So I added them all here: filter by location, cuisine, recommendations and more!

“Also a big thank you to Whitelighted from the OOF Discord, for finding diet information, menus and more.”

Cuisine-wise, there’s everything from American to Italian, Caribbean, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, German, British and Moroccan – a truly global experience, if you want it.

Glastonbury Drink Prices 2024

Another thing Glastonbury attendees are always keen to know is the price of alcohol at the festival. And rightly so. As we know, it tends to be slightly more expensive than a regular night out…

Well, thanks to a certain insider account on X, festival-goers no longer have to wonder.

So for your standard pilsner on tap you’re looking at £6.75, 25p more than last year’s prices, while a bottle of wine costs around £30 this year, compared to £29 of l ‘last year. So while prices have indeed increased slightly, it’s not by a ridiculously inflated amount.

But some are still outraged by the price rise. Especially when it comes to water. “£2.50 for a container of water is criminal,” one said.

“Drink prices at events these days are ridiculous. They’ve basically doubled in about 4 years. I take several coolers and frozen water bottles and will buy extra ice on Sundays. Last year I only bought 3 drinks and had colds all the time No queues either! informed.

Another user called for caution, looking at the price increase side by side and reminding that although prices have increased, this is just one of many bars available and therefore prices may differ from one stand to another.

Drink prices are generally slightly higher at festivals, as are concerts and most events.

One thing to note is that you can take unlimited quantities of your own drinks to Glastonbury, so if you want to avoid bar prices, just make sure you take enough of your own stuff with you!
