NYN ESTI, an artistic concept restaurant in Athens, celebrates the summer solstice by unveiling a new seasonal menu featuring unique flavor pairings inspired by the changing seasons. Located within the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST), the restaurant offers an artistic journey through Greek culinary heritage under the direction of visionary chef Stamatios Misomikes. It fuses gastronomy with visual arts and technology, ensuring that every bite tells a story.

Presentation of the Spring/Summer “Biotope” menu

The summer menu pays homage to Greece’s diverse topography, showcasing the country’s biodiversity, flora and fauna with vegetarian, land and sea protein journeys. Each menu is designed to offer more than just a meal; it’s a journey through time, designed to awaken the senses to the changing seasons with each lesson. Available as a tasting menu or a selection of individual dishes, the “Biotope” menu is renewed twice a year to reflect the transition from Spring/Summer to Autumn/Winter.

Capturing the transition from winter to summer, the new menu features dishes infused with vibrant icy and spicy elements in homage to this poetic transition. Inspired by the natural forces of ice and fire, these contrasting components create a culinary dichotomy reflecting the current state of the planet, resulting in a fascinating and flavorful immersive experience.

The new menu is a sensory delight, engaging all five senses, with each dish presenting a vibrant tapestry of flavors, aromas and visual appeal that embodies Greek gastronomy. Dishes include “Tacos,” a Rhodian bread creation adorned with smoked cashew cream and frozen herbs, tempura fried zucchini with sea buckthorn vinaigrette, chamomile sorbet and loquat-infused sauce fiery. The menu also features a refined version of Rhodian honey cheese, enhanced with acacia, beeswax and apricot. Ingredients like tender lamb, fresh asparagus, broad beans, medlars and fragrant orange blossoms are in the spotlight.

Cocktails that celebrate art

Mixologist Thanos Mousoulis elevates the dining experience with his “Liquid Gallery,” a selection of cocktails celebrating iconic artists and art movements. This collection includes craft cocktails like “Chilli Strings by Ishii Kakuko,” a bold fusion of tequila and chili, and “Composition by Pierre Mondrian,” a complex blend of gin, parmesan, tomato water and char knight. Each cocktail harmonizes with the vibrant flavors of the “Biotope” summer menu, providing a refined counterpart to the restaurant’s rich wine list.
