A message from Dr. Jeanne Hossenlopp, Vice-President of Research and Innovation

Dear colleagues and friends,

For the third and final time this spring, I am writing to highlight the remarkable research being conducted at Marquette. This time, the stories reflect a particularly broad range of academic efforts – from the frontiers of quantum chemistry, to vexing problems posed by PFAS and related “forever chemicals,” to pressing human challenges such as reducing disparities health risks and the prevention of osteoporosis. Please read on for more details about these projects and the broader research culture at Marquette. You will see ample evidence of a community of researchers and scholars that achieves excellence and supports collaboration, as demonstrated by the $7.6 million collaboration between Marquette and the Engineering Research and Development Center at the U.S. military that has resulted in a highly interdisciplinary effort to combat PFAS.

I had the pleasure of sharing the work of our accomplished research community. Thank you for your interest in research and scholarship at Marquette.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeanne M. Hossenlopp
Vice President for Research and Innovation
