As star, co-creator and executive producer of Land of Fire, Max Thiériot knows what it means to be part of a hit TV show. Although he continues to find success with a thriving career in the entertainment industry, he is also fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive group of people away from the cameras. One person has been his cheerleader since the very beginning of his career, like Max and his wife Lexi Murphy We have been a team for almost twenty years.

Unlike many Hollywood love stories, Max and Lexi’s road to romance began away from the set. According to People, the two first met in 2005 while each was on vacation with their respective families in the Caribbean. Although Max and Lexi kept their love lives private, the world noticed when the Bates Motel former student proposed to her in March 2012. According to Display magazine (by Us every week), Max recreated the first time they met by flying Lexi to the Caribbean for a two-week vacation. That’s when he asked her to marry him, but as he shared with the outlet, it seemed like she already knew something was going on before they got engaged.

“I think she expected this to happen,” he said at the time. “Then she ended up thinking it wasn’t going to happen because I waited a whole week to ask her.”

The couple finally tied the knot a year later in June 2013, tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in Lake Tahoe, California. The two were surrounded by their loved ones (including his Catch this kid co-star Kristen Stewart), and Max celebrated his newlywed status by announcing the news on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Best weekend of my life,” he tweeted at the time. “I married the most beautiful and amazing woman in the entire world.”

As of December 2015, Max’s career was occupied by Bates Moteland his family with Lexi grew a little with the birth of their first son Beautiful. Three years later, the married couple welcomed their second son, Maximin January 2018. Max revealed the news on Instagram with a sweet post featuring Beaux and a waiting Lexi.

In addition to a fulfilling family life at home, it turns out that Lexi has a greater influence on Max’s career than one might expect. By appearing on the Keep hammering the collective podcast in August 2023, Max explained how the inspiration for Land of Fire (which follows a prisoner working in California’s inmate firefighter program) actually comes from someone close to Lexi who works for one of the camps featured in the CBS drama.

“My wife’s cousin is the CEO of an inmate fire camp and so I knew about (the inmate fire program in California),” he revealed on the podcast.

Furthermore, when speaking with Collider about Land of FireTHE The SEAL Team one alum revealed that it was Lexi who convinced Max that he should step in front of the camera to play Bode, instead of just being an executive producer.

“My intentions at first were to try to create this world and present it and then have them do a show,” he told the outlet.. “As we went through the process, I wasn’t sure if I would play it, or if I should just do it again… My wife said, ‘Baby, you have to play the part.'”

Regardless, it’s clear that Max is proud of his marriage and his family, as he loves sharing glimpses of private moments with people online. Her most recent look at life at home comes from a video montage of their Mexico vacation adventure in October 2023, enjoying some precious R&R time before filming. Land of Fire season 2.

“Have fun in the Mexican sun 🥰🎣🏌️♂️🍹🌵,” he affectionately captioned the clip featuring Lexi and their kids.
