WVU men’s basketball announces 2 non-conference home opponents and dates

The West Virginia University men’s basketball team has added two additional games to its non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season.

The Mountaineers will host UMass on November 8 and North Carolina Central on December 10.

WVU and UMass, former Atlantic 10 rivals, will meet for the 43^rd time in the history of the school. This will be UMass’ first appearance in Morgantown since 2007, when WVU defeated the Minutemen in the NIT, 90-77. WVU and North Carolina Central will meet for the first time in school history.

It was previously announced that the Mountaineers would open the regular season at home against Robert Morris on November 4, host Iona on November 20, face Georgetown in the Big 12-Big East battle on December 6 at the WVU Coliseum and close out non-conference play at home against Mercyhurst on December 22.

The Mountaineers will play three games as part of Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas from November 27-29. The rest of this field includes Arizona, Davidson, Gonzaga, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma and Providence.

The Mountaineers have a road game at Pitt and have one non-conference home game left to schedule. Pitt’s date and WVU’s final opponent will be announced once finalized.

The renewal deadline is Friday July 26. Ticket renewal declarations for the 2024-25 WVU men’s basketball campaign will be mailed to current season ticket holders in late June.
