OGDEN — A person and their two dogs were safe after their home caught fire Tuesday on 29th Street, according to firefighters.

Around 12:25 p.m., firefighters reported there was “heavy smoke coming from the windows” of the one-story home.

Firefighters with the Ogden City Fire Department said they safely evacuated the owner and his dogs, but one of the dogs needed medical attention.

Authorities said the home suffered an estimated $50,000 in fire and smoke damage, but the fire did not spread to neighboring homes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, firefighters said.
