An anonymous limited partner has purchased a 24 percent share in York City Football Club.

The club has confirmed that a new partner has purchased a 24 per cent stake in the football club, purchasing these shares from Julie-Anne Uggla.

The announced move furthers investment in building a stronger club, with the new member of the ownership group fully disclosed to the York City Supporters’ Trust board.

The news means the Uggla continue to retain their majority stake in the football club, now at 51 per cent, while the York City Supporters’ Trust owns 25 per cent of the club and the new partner the remaining 24 per cent.

After undergoing the review process and detailing the Trust’s special rights, which can be viewed here, the new silent minority owner was approved.

Matt and Julie-Anne Uggla were granted a larger 75 per cent stake in the football club in November after the move was approved by the Supporters’ Trust, which they have since sold to the new sponsor.

In a club statement, the club said: “York City Football Club can now announce that a new strategic partner has joined as a minority owner, purchasing 24% of the shares in YCFC from Julie-Anne Uggla.

“As a result, ownership of YCFC is now Matt & Julie-Anne Uggla (394 Sports) 51%, York City Supporters’ Trust 25%, new partner 24%.

“This change reinforces investment in building a stronger YCFC.

“This new member of the ownership group has been fully disclosed to the York City Supporters’ Trust Board and will operate as a silent partner.

“Further details of the Trust’s monitoring process and the maintenance of the Trust’s special rights can be found on the Trust’s website.”
