Trump loves being ‘ready for prime-time central casting’ in VP pick: Tiana Lowe Doescher

THE Washington Examiner Tiana Lowe Doescher argued that former President Donald Trump’s rumored shortlist of possible vice presidential candidates stemmed from his love of “ready for prime-time central casting.”

The question of who Trump will choose as his vice president for the 2024 election cycle has been the subject of speculation for months now, with a new report indicating that the three most likely candidates are Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) , Sen. Marco Rubio (R-ND). -FL) and JD Vance (R-OH). Doescher suggested that Trump wants someone who is great with the public, which she said is the case for all three of these candidates.

“Marco Rubio, incredible speaker, same with JD Vance, great personal story, and Doug Burgum, billionaire in his own right, very successful businessman,” Doescher said on Fox News. Your world with Neil Cavuto. “Look, they don’t necessarily build a significant voter base, even though it’s not clear on the map right now that Trump really needs that, right? He is leading in every swing state except Wisconsin and Michigan, where he is virtually tied, which is very different from previous elections where he was behind in all of those swing states until he might win them. So that doesn’t worry him too much, but really what Trump wants is he doesn’t want Mike Pence to repeat himself. He doesn’t want to feel weakened. »

Doescher added that while these three picks would bring a decent amount of charisma and fundraising ability to Trump’s campaign, the former president still has work to do to win voter support, particularly among women suburbs and minority voters.

Regarding the presidential debate scheduled for Thursday, Doescher advised Trump to focus on “Joe Biden’s America,” specifically discussing issues impacting the present instead of discussing what happened in the past, such as the events of 2020 or the “audio tapes discovered in 2016”. »

“Don’t talk about it there, do it now,” Doescher said. “Let’s talk about the 19% price increase under Joe Biden. Let’s talk about the millions of people who have flooded the southern border. Point out that today you can’t get a mortgage for less than 7%, whereas under the Trump administration you could get one for less than 3%. That’s what really matters.

The next debate between Trump and President Joe Biden will take place before both candidates become their respective parties’ presidential nominees. Former Georgia Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler and her billionaire husband, Jeff Sprecher, are hosting a debate watch party, which will be attended by several possible Trump running mates. Besides Rubio, Burgum and Vance, other alleged participants include Dr. Ben Carson, who worked as secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development under Trump, and Reps.
