Keystone College announces layoffs and program reductions

LA PLUME, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Keystone College in Lackawanna County announced layoffs and reductions to the school’s curriculum and staff.

As part of its ongoing restructuring and cost-cutting efforts, college officials say they are laying off 29 faculty and staff members.

The school will also cut programs like chemistry, forensic biology and teaching.

The college will continue to teach these programs until enrolled students complete the courses.

By making these cuts, officials say the college is expected to save more than $3,000,000.
