Celine Dion ‘was offered the chance to perform at the Paris Olympics’

Celine Dion was offered the chance to perform at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
The 56-year-old singer is eager to return to the stage, despite being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome – a progressive neurological disorder that affects her muscles – and Celine being offered the opportunity to perform at the upcoming Olympics.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre section: “Céline has made no secret of her desire to return to the stage, and Paris would be the perfect opportunity for her to do so.
“Unlike other offerings that consist of full shows, an appearance at the opening ceremony would allow Céline to perform just one song.”
Céline is excited about the opportunity to perform at the opening ceremony. However, it is not yet clear whether this will happen.
The source explained: “The official offer to perform was made earlier this year, and Celine is working around the clock to make it happen.
“She’s made huge progress and is getting stronger every day, but she’s not out of the woods yet.
“Everyone is crossing their fingers that it can happen. It will be quite a moment.”
Meanwhile, Celine previously revealed she hopes to “raise awareness” about stiff person syndrome through a new feature-length documentary.
The award-winning star opened up about her struggles in “I Am: Celine Dion.”
She said: “The last few years have been a real challenge for me, the journey from discovering my illness to learning to live with and manage it, but not letting it define me.
“As the road to resuming my performing career continues, I have realized how much I miss being able to see my fans.
“During this absence, I decided to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known disease, to help those who share this diagnosis.”
