Travel distances 2024/25 – English League 2

At TSZ we have put together a list of all travel distances for the 2024/25 English League Two season.

Distances have been determined using the shortest road route available on Google Maps at the time of writing. Mileage shown is for the round trip from a team’s home stadium to the opponent’s home stadium, and vice versa, for all away games during the league campaign. This is strictly a ‘by road’ analysis, with other forms of transport (e.g. train) not taken into account.

TOTAL DISTANCES

  • Gillingham’s away days total 9,130 ​​miles in League Two this season, an average of 397 miles per away game.
  • Chesterfield is at the other end of the spectrum, with a total of over 4,000 miles less than Gillingham.

WHAT IS THE LONGEST MOVE IN LEAGUE TWO?

  • The 349 miles separating Carlisle and Gillingham are the longest in League Two this season, with a round trip of almost 700 miles.
  • The longest return journey from Walsall (370 miles to Carlisle and back) is just over half that distance.

WHAT IS THE SHORTEST MOVE IN LEAGUE TWO?

  • No trip to League Two is shorter than when AFC Wimbledon and Bromley play each other, with just 12 miles between the two stadiums (24 miles both ways).
  • In contrast, Carlisle’s shortest return journey comes when they face Morecambe. Fans based in Carlisle only have 140 miles to travel on this trip.
