Grand jury to consider case against man accused in barbershop shooting on Pleasant Valley Road

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A grand jury will consider criminal charges against a Mobile man accused of shooting up a barbershop and injuring several people on Pleasant Valley Road.

After hearing testimony from a Mobile police detective, a judge determined prosecutors had sufficient evidence to send two counts of first- and second-degree assault against Jamarcus Grayson to the grand jury.

Prosecutors say gunfire broke out at a store in April when Grayson and another man got into an argument. Five people, including Grayson, were injured in the exchange of gunfire. Among the injured was a woman sitting on a bench across the street.

The judge ordered Grayson to have no contact with any of the victims.
