Oakland massage parlor thief caught on camera, money stolen from business

(KRON) — A robbery earlier this week at an Oakland massage parlor was caught on camera. The video (above) shows a woman sneaking behind the company’s reception desk.

Around the 35-second mark of the video, she is seen going through the counter drawers. The suspect then walks away, apparently leaving with cash.

The robbery happened Monday around 6:30 p.m. at Crown Thai Massage, 6180 Antioch St. A police report was filed, but Oakland police currently have no information on the suspect.

The suspect stole approximately $1,100 from the business, according to the business owner. Two hundred dollars was stolen from a massage therapist, along with $12 in tips and $888 from the business.

“She came into our spa in Montclair Village Oakland and stole our money and belongings,” Crown Thai Massage wrote in a Facebook post. “Please report to the police if anyone sees her.”

OPD said the woman entered the business, “took several items” and fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
