Katz Announces Retirement From KatzAbosch, the Company He Co-Founded

Alvin D. Katz, who co-founded an accounting and business advisory firm in 1969 that became one of the largest in the Baltimore area, is retiring.

KatzAbosch, which Katz co-founded and now has locations in Timonium, Bel Air and Columbia, announced the news in a press release Wednesday.

“Alvin Katz has been the cornerstone of KatzAbosch for more than five decades,” said Terry Grant, CEO and president of the company. “His vision and unwavering dedication have enabled the company to experience remarkable growth and success. Alvin’s influence extends beyond his professional achievements; he was a mentor, leader and friend to many. His commitment to excellence and integrity has set a standard that will continue to guide us as we move forward.

Katz was also known for his professional and community involvement. He is a past member and member of the Virtual Grassroots Panel of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Blue Ribbon Panel of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. Katz served on the board of directors of the Center Club and is a former board member of the National Bone Marrow Foundation, the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and the Associated-Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore.

“It has been an incredible journey and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and success I have experienced with KatzAbosch,” Katz said in a statement. “The relationships I have formed with my colleagues and clients have been the most rewarding aspect of my career. »

The company announced it would celebrate Katz’s career at an event marking his 55th anniversary, planned for later this year.
