What is the NBA Draft Green Room and who has been invited this year 2024?

THE 2024 NBA Draft is here with the first round kicking off at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT tonight. The 30 NBA teams will choose the most talented and promising young players to appear in the best league in the world during the event, which will be held in at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York – the location where the event has been held since 2013.

This year, the league invited 25 prospects to follow the draft live from the Salon Vertthe assembly area in front of the NBA draft podium where the future stars and their families will wait for their names to be called.

Zach Edey declines invitation to the Green Room

A player, graduated from Purdue Zach Edey, refused the chance to watch his destiny unfold from the luxury of the Green Room. Toronto’s 7-foot-4 center says he’ll feel more comfortable watch the draft privately with family and friends at my home in West Lafayette.

Edeyone of the big names to watch in this year’s draft, was on last year’s list, but withdrew at the last minute to continue for a fourth season of college basketball. He should be selected around 15th place.

Who is invited to the Salon Vert?

Establish who will be invited at the Salon Vert, the presidents or general managers of the teams selected in the first round are invited to vote on the 25 best players they expect to be drafted in the first round.

The number is limited to 25 for practical reasons. The NBA Draft can be a long, intense night and it’s not much fun for young players to wait anxiously in front of a national television audience for hours.

Who are the Green Room guests this year?

In general, being invited to the green room usually means results in a good Draft eveningbecause they have a high chance of being selected in the top 30 choices.

However, it’s not always the case. During the 2022-23 draft, 24 players were invited to the Green Room, including one player, Jaden Hardy (#37)not selected in the first round.

The first round of invitations to sit in the green room is usually sent out two to three weeks before the draft. Players will be allowed to invite six people to sit alongside them. at their individual tables – last year a maximum of 10 guests were allowed.
