Downtown Mobile parking lot won’t be ready for Mardi Gras 2025: City Council

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The downtown mobile parking lot under construction at the Mobile Civic Center will not be completed in time for Mardi Gras 2025, News 5 has learned.

Construction of the parking lot was initially scheduled to be completed by the end of January 2025, but this is no longer the case.

The Mobile City Council learned at its Tuesday meeting that completion of the parking lot was delayed because the contract was not awarded in September as planned.

The parking lot is expected to be completed at the end of March, after Mardi Gras, scheduled for March 4, 2025.
