Milwaukee Bucks fans have 1 clear message for Bobby Portis amid offseason questions

Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks has been constantly mentioned in the media recently as one of the team’s assets during the offseason. But if fans of the franchise had their way, the big man wouldn’t be traded out of the Cream City.

Portis was drafted in the first round, 22nd overall, by the Chicago Bulls after a successful college career at the University of Arkansas. With the Bulls, the big man emerged as a promising young forward. He made his NBA debut in 2015 and had several good performances, including a 20-point, 11-rebound game against the New York Knicks in his rookie season. He continued to develop over the next few years, demonstrating his ability to score, rebound and defend. He recorded a career-high 27 points in 2017.

In 2017, Portis was involved in a physical altercation with teammate Nikola Mirotic during practice, resulting in an 8-game suspension. However, he bounced back and had a solid year in 2018-19 before being traded to the Washington Wizards midway through the season.

He then spent a brief stint with the New York Knicks before signing with Milwaukee in 2020. With two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, he continued to be a valuable bench player, contributing to their NBA championship in 2021. In his eighth NBA season, the Bucks fan favorite has established himself as a reliable forward who can make an impact on both ends of the court.

Milwaukee Bucks fans beg Bobby Portis to stay with the team

Just recently, Portis shared a series of images of himself practicing on the court on his X account. Naturally, Bucks fans expressed their feelings and begged him to stay in Milwaukee.

“You remain a Milwaukee Buck!” » Ghost tweeted.

“You are a silver boy,” Obisobe said.

“Please stay Bobby,” GiannisGotAura posted.

“You stay with us,” Bensbighog responded.

“Don’t let them trade you or I’ll cry,” Brooklyn shared.

Portis has two years remaining on his current contract and has a player option on the last one. Last season, the big man averaged 13.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 82 regular-season games.

It remains to be seen whether the Bucks front office will trade Portis or not. Either way, the team’s fans will surely go wild if they see the striker leave.
