Rail traffic: train traffic is disrupted: 78 trains canceled, 36 diverted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Following the third line work on Kazipet-Balharshah sections, 78 trains were canceled and 36 trains were diverted to other routes till July 7. According to SCR, the decision to cancel a significant number of trains was due to non-locking and non-locking works for commissioning the third line between Asifabad and Rechni stations in Secunderabad division. Passengers, especially those traveling on the Balharshah-Kazipet Memu Express and the Sirpur-Kagaznagar Intercity Express, have been facing inconvenience due to the cancellations. These trains are heavily used by locals – especially commuters from Mancherial, Peddapalli, Ramagundam, Jammikunta, Kazipet – for their daily commute and travel needs. Due to the current situation, these passengers have had to look for alternative means of transportation, such as buses or super-fast expresses, which operate on limited schedules. “The planned cancellation of 78 trains has been announced and all affected passengers will receive a full refund of their purchased tickets. Of the canceled trains, only four run daily, while the rest run on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. These cancellations are necessary to facilitate ongoing crucial works,” a railway official said.
