Tucker Kraft ready to enter his second year in the NFL

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — The 2024 NFL season is fast approaching and one South Dakota native is hoping to grow in his second season with the Green Bay Packers.

Tucker Kraft finished his rookie year with 31 receptions for 355 yards and two touchdowns, setting him up for a sophomore season, which he says is a blessing.

“I’m more or less grateful to have been able to be on the field. What a privilege to be able to experience it all, every time I step on the field, every snap is a blessing and I thank God every day for that. Most importantly, I thank my community and everyone who has supported me along the way,” said Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft.

Green Bay had the youngest team in football last season, helping Tucker feel right at home.

“It’s been great. Honestly, sometimes it feels like a college locker room. The environment is young and youthful. Everyone has a smile on their faces. “One thing I like most about our locker room is you can strike up a conversation with anyone,” Kraft said.

The Timber Lake native tore a pectoral muscle during the offseason. He had surgery, but says he will be just fine by the start of the season.

“As hard as it has been for me and my wife, the injury is just a minor setback. It’s a test, I’m going to come out of this and become a better player, a better person because of it,” he said. Kraft said.

Kraft is eager to take the next step this year, despite a strong rookie season that has his goals aligned as he attempts to reach his full potential.

“This year I want to be the best tight end at the front of the outside zone block. It’s tough, it’s not easy for a tight end to get away from the football, an edge rusher. That’s something I want to be able to do and I want to be able to set a precedent in our running game,” the tight end said.

The Packers will begin training camp on Monday, July 22.
