Red Robin Launches Olympic-Inspired Burger Weighing 18 Ounces

Red Robin has released an Olympic-inspired burger for those with a competitive spirit.

The burger, called the Gold Medal Burger, features three patties, three layers of American cheese, Red’s relish, mayonnaise, pickles, onion, lettuce and tomato, and weighs about 18 ounces, a the restaurant chain said in a press release.

Red Robin said the burger, available through Aug. 11, is served with unlimited steak fries or another bottomless item of your choice.

Customers who think they can conquer the Gold Medal Burger will have the chance to be included in the official Gold Medal Burger Hall of Fame at redrobin.com, the company said. To enjoy the burger, simply visit your nearest Red Robin restaurant, order the Gold Medal Burger and submit your name.

“Inspired by the gear athletes will take home, the Gold Medal Burger weighs approximately 18 ounces and is the ultimate summer challenge for burger fans,” said Brian Sullivan, executive chef of Red Robin and vice president of the culinary and beverage innovation, in the press release. .

The restaurant chain is also launching a patriotic drink to accompany the Gold Medal Burger.

The Star-Spangled Spritzer is served in a bright souvenir mug with wild raspberry syrup and Sprite topped with blue cotton candy, Red Robin said in the press release. The drink is only available on site.

“We held an internal competition where participants were challenged to complete the Gold Medal Burger and the Star Spritzer, and only a few could complete the challenge. We know our guests will bring it and we can’t wait to see who takes on the challenge. plaque!” Sullivan added in the press release.
