Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia message, Kimmich ‘wants to move’, Eze latest

Liverpool fans will be hoping for positive transfer news soon, with Reds supporters still waiting for a first new signing of the summer.

With Euro 2024 and the Copa America currently underway, matters will be a little trickier for Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes. As the start of pre-season approaches, they hope to secure some signings soon.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could be one of them. Fresh from Georgia’s surprise win over Portugal, he will be on the hunt for a transfer this summer. New Napoli coach Antonio Conte, however, has sent a strong message to Liverpool and other potential suitors.

Meanwhile, Joshua Kimmich could soon be leaving Bayern Munich, with reports suggesting he is keen on a move to Anfield. Elsewhere, Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Eberechi Eze’s agent over a potential move for the Crystal Palace star.

Salah receives tempting Olympic offer

It remains to be seen whether Mohamed Salah will represent Egypt at this summer’s Olympic Games. But via Egypt Daily News, he will carry the country’s flag during the opening ceremony if he joins the team.

FIFA is not forcing clubs to release players for the tournament. Liverpool would no doubt be reluctant to lose a key player for the start of the season, especially under new manager Arne Slot.

But Salah might just want to play. He is yet to win silverware with Egypt, the only thing missing from a glittering career.

Liverpool ‘informed’ of Coman availability

Liverpool are among the clubs to have been told that Kingsley Coman is likely to be on the market this summer. It comes as Bayern Munich finalise a deal for Michael Olise.

According to HITC, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been informed of Coman’s situation. He only started 15 Bundesliga games last season, and the opportunities are expected to be fewer and fewer once Olise arrives.

The 28-year-old is valued at $63m (£50m/€59m). Although Liverpool have been contacted through intermediaries, it remains to be seen whether they would be interested in making a move.

Garcia bound

Liverpool have reportedly been linked with Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia. The ECHO has profiled the 23-year-old.

It’s unclear where the Liverpool rumors are coming from, but Gerard Romero has gone so far as to claim that Garcia will “soon” be an Arsenal player. So if the Reds are interested, they may have to make a move.

Garcia has just earned promotion to La Liga with Espanyol. Liverpool are likely to be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, with Adrian leaving for Real Betis and Caoimhin Kelleher’s future also uncertain.

Learn more about Kvaratskhelia as he responds to Conte

Today it is the center of Kvaratskhelia. And while Napoli and Antonio Conte seem convinced he’s not going anywhere, the player himself has been a little less definitive.

“I respect Conte, he is one of the best managers,” he said after Georgia’s impressive victory against Portugal. “I also respect Naples, I love Naples.

“I will decide on my future after the Euro. Now I’m focusing on the match against Spain.”

The “big English club” loved Kvaratskhelia

With the statements from Napoli and now new boss Antonio Conte, it seems that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will not be on the move this summer. Speaking on YouTube, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Georgian will now remain with the Serie A side.

However, he added that a “big English club” had already shown real interest in a transfer this summer. Although he didn’t name the team, one wonders if it could have been Liverpool.

Kvaratskhelia has been linked to the Reds before. And we think Arne Slot would like to add another option to the attack.

Liverpool urged to complete swap deal

Unofficial “trades” are all the rage right now. The clubs affected by the PSR did a lot of business with each other before the June 30 accounting deadline.

Liverpool have no such concerns, but have nevertheless been asked to consider a swap.

The Express tells the Reds to offer Sepp van den Berg to Bologna in an attempt to secure a deal for Riccardo Calafiori over the line. Juventus are the favorites to seal their signing, but the Dutchman could tip it over.

Bologna have been interested in Van den Berg as a replacement for Calafiori, according to the Daily Mail. So, if Liverpool are really interested in the centre-back, they might as well try to turn that to their advantage.

Eberechi Eze “speaks”

Liverpool have held discussions with Eberechi Eze’s agent over a possible transfer this summer, according to Give Me Sport.

The 25-year-old is currently with England at Euro 2024, having enjoyed a fine season with Crystal Palace after scoring 11 goals and adding four assists.

BBC Sport previously claimed Palace would want at least $76m (£60m/€71m) for Eze’s services, with the Eagles likely less keen to lose him as Michael Olise closes in a transfer to Bayern Munich.

Kimmich ‘wants to join Liverpool’

Joshua Kimmich wants to move to Liverpool, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Reds are among five clubs the Germany international wants to join if he leaves Bayern Munich, along with Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Bayern reportedly have no plans to extend Kimmich’s contract beyond 2025, with the midfielder allowed to leave if a suitable offer arrives.

Conte sends a clear message to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

New Napoli boss Antonio Conte has ruled out a move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, despite the Georgian hero being keen on a summer move.

Both the 23-year-old’s agent and father have made their desire for a transfer clear this summer, with Liverpool among the clubs linked.

Speaking at a press conference, Conte dismissed any suggestion that Kvaratskhelia would leave Naples:

There is no doubt. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stays here and he will play for Napoli. There is no doubt, everything is clear. Kvara will stay here with us.
