This vintage-inspired pilot’s watch just got a welcome upgrade

If you’ve paid attention to the watch industry over the past couple of years, one of the standout stories has been the rise of Longines.

The brand, one of the oldest in existence, has never really been in the doldrums. But recently, and especially last year, Longines has been under some serious heat.

In 2023 alone, we saw the launch of a new Conquest line, the Conquest Chronograph, the Hydroconquest GMT, the Spirit Flyback, the Spirit Zulu Time 39 and the Legend Diver 39, all of which received almost unanimous reception from the community of enthusiasts.

One of the brand’s early releases from last year that was perhaps a little less popular with everyone was the Pilot Majetek. This original pilot’s watch, inspired by the 1930s, was distinguished by its functional knurled timing bezel and oversized cushion case. And while almost everyone appreciated the uniqueness of its design, some found the 43mm piece of stainless steel too bulky on the wrist.

Well, if you’ve been hesitant about getting a Majetek because you think it would overwhelm your wrist, then I have some good news for you. Longines has launched a Pioneer edition of the Majetek, made from lightweight grade 5 titanium.
