The important message in YUNGBLUD’s “breakdown”

There are a lot of struggles in this world. For many of us, tough struggles can be perilous. If you’re like us, you turn to music a lot. It can soothe the soul and the messages in the lyrics can bring much comfort and solace. Songs can unite us and help us believe that we are not alone in what we are going through. Today, we’re going to explore the meaning behind YUNGBLUD’s new single, “Breakdown,” and the important message it contains.

“Breakdown” is one of YUNGBLUD’s most personal albums to date, and it explores themes surrounding depression, so know that before reading further.

This song came from a poem he wrote last year, in which he struggled with his mental health more than ever.

I wrote this song because it’s been the hardest year for me mentally. I feel myself changing and throughout my life I have never felt good enough. It’s the main thing that, on the one hand, kept me going, but on the other hand, ate away at me. For as long as I can remember, I have been constantly afraid of how quickly my head can darken.

Everyone must help each other

The meaning behind YUNGBLUD’s “Breakdown” is that we need to remember that we are not alone in how we feel. Many of us may face challenges in our lives that will bring us to the brink of depression or worse. But we don’t have to face the realities and scary situations that life throws our way alone.

It’s about getting out of your head and noticing the world around you, things and people. Connect with them, chances are they feel the same way. Don’t let the bullshit in your head consume you. It simply wastes valuable time and life potential.

The world continues to turn and we continue to walk this planet together. YUNGBLUD has partnered with two mental health organizations, Sound Mind in the US and Mind in the UK, and will donate $1 to each for every use of the CapCut “Breakdown” model.

Our theory is that the message at the end of “Breakdown” is a nod to our existence in a vast universe. Without us, would everything really exist? Are we what keeps everything moving? Maybe we are the most important thing in the universe.

Maybe this is something we should move forward on. Not only do we need to remember how amazing it is that we are alive and here, but we also need to relish the idea. Maybe that’s exactly what YUNGBLUD wanted us to think about with that moment at the end of the “Breakdown” music video.
