The Pride crosswalk in front of Spencer Secondary School in Langford has been vandalized again, but this time police have video of the culprits.

The Rainbow Crosswalk, a project by Spencer Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Club students, was twice vandalized with red paint and tire marks just hours after its completion , February 15.

This week, the same phenomenon happened again with vandals who struck on Monday and Tuesday evening, using red paint to write profanities.

West Shore RCMP are investigating these incidents as mischief under the Criminal Code.

Cameras were installed at the Goldstream Avenue crossing, and both incidents were captured on video. Police are releasing footage of the vandalism in the hope that a member of the public can identify the suspects.

The first incident took place around 2:30 a.m. on Monday. A video shows a single person painting graffiti on the crosswalk.

The person was described as having light skin and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood on top of a baseball cap, dark pants and hiking boots. The culprit was holding a can of drink in his left hand and spray paint in the other.

The second incident took place on Tuesday around 11 p.m. A video shows two men taking turns painting graffiti on the crosswalk.

One of the men is described as having light skin and short hair, wearing brown shorts, a black t-shirt and a dark baseball cap.

The other is described as having light skin and shoulder-length hair. He is wearing a sleeveless tank top with a large circular logo on the chest, dark pants and a baseball cap.

The graffiti has since been cleaned up by the City of Langford.
