Wild footage showed motorists pleading with a primary school teacher who was driving drunk and with a flat tire to stop.

The Mazda SUV was spotted driving with its front left wheel rim scraping along the Calder Freeway at Keilor, in Melbourne’s northwest, about 3.20pm on Wednesday.

Concerned motorists honked at the driver, a 53-year-old primary school teacher, to alert her of the problem, but she continued driving.

CCTV footage captured the moment the woman parked at a local shopping center and walked into a bottle shop to buy a bottle of vodka, a concerned resident claimed.

She can be seen paying for an item before tripping over a shelf while trying to leave the store.

Police then located the vehicle at a house in Essendon and took the woman to a police station where she returned a breath test of 0.139.

The blood alcohol level was more than two and a half times the legal limit of 0.05 and led police to seize the vehicle for 30 days, at a cost of $913.70.

Victoria Police said the woman “is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and road traffic offenses and is expected to appear in a Magistrates Court at a later date”.

Shocked motorists failed to stop a primary school teacher who was driving drunk and with a flat tyre (pictured) in Melbourne’s northwest on Wednesday afternoon
A concerned resident reported that the woman (pictured) ignored them when they told her about the flat tyre and “headed straight” to a bottle shop to “buy a bottle of vodka”.

A worried couple decided to follow the car until it was parked, but the woman “ignored” them when they confronted her at the mall.

“She just seemed unconscious or didn’t want to interact with anyone,” one man, who wished to remain anonymous, told 7News.

“My wife tried to say ‘excuse me’… and she completely ignored us (and) headed straight to the Bottlemart.”

He said he was “completely shocked” after seeing the woman buy a “bottle of vodka”.

“She puts other people’s lives in danger,” the man said.

“It’s a complete disregard for anyone but herself.”
